2024 Subaru Solterra EV
About 2024 subaru ev
In an 2024 subaru ev where the Model Y has its show-stopping tech, the Ioniq 5 its retro-futuristic design and the IONIQ 5 and Mustang Mach-E their dynamic prowess, the Subaru Solterra stands apart by offering genuine off-road capability. It also has a comfortable interior and a pliant ride. However, it’s not the quickest or offers the most range among small SUV-style EVs. To help it better compete, Subaru introduces several thoughtful updates for 2024. They include a redesigned steering wheel that hosts paddle switches for adjusting the amount of brake regeneration, as well as improved charging performance at public DC fast chargers; it takes about 35 minutes to go from 10% to 80% charge compared with an hour last year. Subaru has also improved the battery conditioning for cold weather.
2024 Subaru EV: What to Expect from the Latest Electric Model
Subaru’s StarDrive(r) zero-emission all-electric powertrain still underpins the Solterra EV, which features symmetrical all-wheel drive with two electric motors that can shuffle torque between the front and rear axles. This helps ensure excellent traction on any surface and in all weather conditions. Further enhancing the Solterra’s off-road capability are Grip Control and Downhill Assist Control systems.
Subaru’s standard EyeSight driver-assistance system is upgraded this year to add front cross-traffic alert and “driver-supported, hands-free driving at speeds of 25 mph or less.” Further improving safety are blind spot monitors, rear camera detection with pedestrian warning, adaptive cruise control, pre-crash systems, lane departure warning and lane keep assist. The car also features a DriverFocus distraction mitigation system.
